该研究报告了多中心随机对照HEBE研究中受试者的远期预后情况。纳入200例大的首次急性心肌梗死(AMI)患者，他们均接受经皮冠状动脉介入(PCI)治疗，并接受BMMC(n=69)或PBMC(n=66)或标准治疗(n=65)。除了3–5天和急性心肌梗死后4个月，所有患者术后2年均接受心脏磁共振(MRI)检查。对AMI患者随访5年，以评估其临床不良事件(包括死亡、MI和心衰入院)。

结果显示，纳入的200例患者中，死亡和失访的例数分别为9例和12例。与对照组(11.2±19.8 mL/m2)相比，BMMC组受试者LVEDV增幅(3.5±16.9 mL/m2)更小，P=0.03;PBMC组与对照组无差异(9.2±20.9 mL/m2，P=0.69)。

此外，与对照组(3.0±16.3 mL/m2)相比，BMMC组左室收缩末期容量(−1.8±15.0 mL/m2)有减少趋势;PBMC组与对照组也无差异(3.3±18.8 mL/m2，P=0.66)。

与对照组(3.0±16.3 mL/m2)相比，BMMC组死亡和心衰入院的复合终点无显著较少(n=4 vs n=1，P=0.20);PBMC组和对照组无差异(n=6 vs n=4，P=0.74)。

与对照组相比，PBMC组死亡或MI复发的复合终点显著更多(14 例对3例，P=0.008)，BMMC组与对照组无差异(2例对3 例，P=0.67)。
