Initial Submission
Initial submissions need not adhere closely to the journal's format and length requirements.
To facilitate peer review, authors are strongly encouraged to provide a single Word or PDF file containing the main text and all display items and to present each figure adjacent to its legend in sequential order. For detailed formatting instructions see Article Style and Format.
Figures may be supplied separately at initial submission in PDF, JPG, TIFF, PNG, EPS, PS or PowerPoint format. Authors should be familiar with AACR policies on image data.
Supplementary Data should be supplied separately. Individual files must not exceed 50 MB each in size.
Revised Submissions
Revised manuscripts should be submitted using the link in the decision letter of the previous version or by clicking the “Revise” link on your personal SmartSubmit home page.
Manuscript files must be supplied in Word or RTF format. PDF files are not acceptable for revised submissions. Mathematical Oncology Research Articles may be submitted in LaTeX format.
Figures (and an optional Graphical Abstract) must be supplied as separate files in EPS, TIFF, AI, PSD, PNG or PS format. PowerPoint (PPT, PPTX) files are discouraged but may be acceptable. Color images should be supplied in RGB. Figures should NOT be embedded in the article file. PDF files for figures are not acceptable for revisions. Formatting and best practices guidelines for figures are available here.
Supplementary Data should be supplied separately. Individual files must not exceed 50 MB each in size.
If the corresponding author hasn’t previously linked their AACR SmartSubmit account to their ORCID account, they will be required to do so before submitting their revised manuscript. If the manuscript is provisionally accepted for publication, all co-authors will be required to link their SmartSubmit and ORCID accounts before completing forms required for publication.
Authors of Research Articles are encouraged to submit an optional Graphical Abstract - a single image containing a clear and condensed diagrammatic summary of the major findings and biological implications. Graphical Abstracts should not include data items of any type or figures from the manuscript and should be distinct from any model figures in the manuscript. This should be an illustrative image with little or no text and should not contain heavily saturated colors. If the manuscript is accepted and the graphical abstract is deemed suitable for publication, this image will be included in the article along with the Abstract. If you wish to submit a Graphical Abstract for consideration, please upload it along with your submission and select "Graphical Abstract" as the file type. In the caption box on the submission form, please include a short caption for your Graphical Abstract that describes your image in 25 words or less. Please note, all Graphical Abstracts, including the image and any accompanying text, may be enhanced and redrawn at the discretion of the editorial office.
