　　支链和芳香化氨基酸与2型糖尿病危险相关，但其潜在的机制尚不清楚。研究者从青年芬兰心血管危险研究人群中分析了1680名受试者的循环异亮氨酸、亮氨酸、缬氨酸、苯丙氨酸、酪氨酸和6种其他氨基酸含量。在基线和随访6年时通过稳态模型评估（HOMA）评估胰岛素抵抗（IR）。

　　研究发现，异亮氨酸、亮氨酸、缬氨酸、苯丙氨酸、酪氨酸与男性基线和随访6年的HOMA-IR相关，而在女性中则仅亮氨酸、缬氨酸、苯丙氨酸预测6年HOMA-IR。支链和芳香化氨基酸浓度总和与男性第6年胰岛素抵抗相关，不过在预测模型中加入氨基酸评分不会扩大危险的差异。
