Neurology:体重指数与多发性硬化患者脑容量变化有关

近日,神经病学领域权威取杂志Neurology上发表了一篇研究文章,研究人员旨在明确体重指数(BMI)或维生素D状态是否与复发缓解型多发性硬化症(RRMS)或临床孤立综合征(CIS)患者神经退行性疾病的MRI测量值相关。

表达、蛋白质组学、成像和临床研究(EPIC研究)是旧金山加利福尼亚大学开展的纵向多发性硬化(MS)队列研究。参与者每年进行临床评估、脑部MRI检查和抽血取样。研究人员在基线时评估了CIS或RRMS患者。在针对年龄、性别、种族、吸烟状况和使用MS治疗进行调整后的多变量重复测量分析中,研究人员评估了年度25-羟基维生素D水平和BMI与随后脑容量之间的关系(通过使用萎缩-X标准化的结构图像评估确定的标准化灰质[nGMV]、脑实质 [nBPV]和白质体积)。

在469名参与者中,多变量模型中BMI每增加1kg/m2与nGMV减少独立相关(-1.1mL,95%置信区间[CI]为-1.8至-0.5,p=0.001)。BMI同样与nBPV独立相关(BMI每增加1kg/m2的nBPV为-1.1mL,95%CI为-2.1至-0.05,p=0.039)。维生素D水平似乎与脑容量无明显关联。
